The conference is co-organized by the Government of the Philippines, as host, together with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and in collaboration with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Violence Against Children (SRSG-VAC).

Registration for the Ministerial Conference will close on 16 October 2026.

More information will be made available on this website over the coming weeks.

The First Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children, in 2024, marked a defining moment.

109 Member States coming together in Bogotá alongside civil society leaders, making close to 400 pledges, demonstrated unprecedented commitment to preventing violence against children. One year later, the majority of pledge-making governments reported that they were either on track to deliver their commitments or had already done so: moments matter.

The Second Ministerial Conference will build on this momentum, convening Ministers and senior officials from Member States and United Nations agencies, alongside child, youth, faith, funder, academic, civil society and survivor leaders to highlight innovation, showcase implementation progress, and make new, additional and stronger pledges for the one billion boys and girls affected by violence.

With a prevention-first approach, the Conference will focus on the three best-proven ‘breakthrough’ solutions – parent and caregiver support, safe and enabling schools, and response systems – while increasing attention on escalating priorities including prevention of tech-facilitated violence, prevention in humanitarian and climate contexts and the intersection of violence against children and violence against women. Ministerial delegations are encouraged to reflect this focus, with strong representation across Health, Education, Justice and Technology alongside Social Affairs/Social Welfare.

Join government, funder, civil society, private sector, child, youth and survivor leaders for this milestone moment – celebrating progress, renewing our collective commitment to prevent all forms of violence against children and accelerating action to deliver SDG 16.2.

Now, more than ever, governments, agencies, allies and advocates need to stand for children – to protect our most vulnerable and promising citizens and to enable them to build happy, healthy lives.
